About Your Mentor
Willen Cavalcante, is a professional barista from Brazil currently based in Australia.
With years of hands-on experience in some of the country´s busiest cafés and 5-star resorts, he has trained and mentored over 1,000 baristas throughout his career, including the 2023 Brazilian National Latte Art Champion.
Passionate about coffee, hospitality, and teaching, Willen created Barista Essential to help beginners gain the confidence and real-world knowledge needed to start working in cafés around the world.
His goal is simple, to make learning coffee clear, practical, and accessible to anyone who wants to start a career in hospitality.
